European Gas Prices Are a Problem for US Energy Buyers. The Beacon, 10/04/2021
The Headline: European gas prices continue to dominate the market, pulling American gas prices near 10-year highs
The Bottom Line: Europe may be in for an expensive winter, and American natural gas prices are up on strong LNG exports to the much more expensive buyers. European gas closed the week ~$30/mmbtu, and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) exports are extremely strong. This activity continues to pull US energy prices up beyond what the traditional fundamentals would support.
