Prices Rise Slightly – Cold Weather and Recovering Demand May Be Ending Low Prices in the Short Term. The Beacon, 05/03/2021

The Headline:   Another week of cold weather and a smaller-than-expected gas storage led to more wholesale energy price increases.  Prices are up slightly starting in 2023, as the strong LNG exports continue to stoke market fears about rising long-term price levels.

The Bottom Line:    This week gives more evidence that this buying window may be coming to an end.  We continue to advise Lighthouse customers to lock in long-term rates before a bad hurricane season, a hot summer, or regulatory announcements adverse to the oil and gas industry push prices up.
