Winter gives the market a warning. The Beacon, 1/10/2022

The Headline:   Energy prices are up from holiday-season lows, and may be headed higher.

The Bottom Line:    Natural gas prices climbed broadly on colder weather and a smaller-than-expected natural gas storage injection.  Winter weather-driven volatility is on the horizon, and geopolitical events could continue to make European gas prices and LNG export levels a bullish factor in coming weeks.  Anyone with an electricity or natural gas service agreement that ends before April-May 2022 should still strongly consider locking in their rates for 2022 right away.
